Gegham Stepanyan

Born on July 22, 1991 in the city of Stepanakert.

Education

  • 1998-2008 studied at the secondary school number 1 after Khachatur Abovyan in Stepanakert
  • 2008-2014 studied International relations at the Yerevan State University
  • 2014-2026 studied at the Master’s program in Political Science and International Affairs of the American University of Armenia

 

Work Experience

  • 2016-2020 worked in the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh as an Assistant to the President of the Parliament
  • 2016-2019 was a lecturer at the Department of History and Political Science of Artsakh State University
  • From September 2020 to March 2021 worked in the staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Artsakh Republic as Executive Secretary (Chief of Staff).
  • On March 25, 2021 was elected as Human Rights Ombudsman of the Artsakh Republic by the National Assembly of Artsakh.

 

Other Information

  • 2009-2011 served in the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh
  • 2016-2019 was a member of Artsakh team of Crisis Management Initiative

  • 2016 May – July: PhD researcher at Fribourg University of Switzerland with grant of Academic Swiss Caucasus Net (ASCN).
