On 11 August, the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan received the representatives of the “NKR Refugees Union” NGO Sarasar Saryan and Ruzanna Avagyan.
The guests presented to the Ombudsman the main directions and results of the organization’s activities, as well as some of the issues of refugees living in Artsakh.
Artak Beglaryan highlighted the role of the non-governmental organization in raising the issues in protection of the rights of the refugees within the republic and on international platforms.
The Ombudsman introduced them the work done by his staff to protect the rights of refugees, as well as his approaches in the context of systematic solution to the existing problems. In addition to addressing domestic issues, the Human Rights Ombudsman also emphasized the need for international attention to refugees and internally displaced persons as a result of genocidal actions in Azerbaijan, considering unacceptable the indifference and irresponsibility of the international community.
The parties agreed to intensify their cooperation on a number of issues discussed.
